Can you have used headers coated? When I bought my SLPs, I didn't get them coated and now wish I had. Anyone know someone that will do it? If not, I'll probablt jsut polish them and then get coated ones later.

 

Yes; they'll clean them up by media blasting first. However, your coating is only as good as the surface it's applied to. if you want mirror smooth finish, get them blasted yourself and then polish before sending them off to be coated.

 

Thanks. That's what I figured but wasn't sure. The SLPs only have about 700 miles on them in 6 months, so they still look new. Since the car is going to be down for a while until I get some more money, I'll probably pull them off and polish them.

If you went with Jet-Hot, they clean and coat used headers, but don't make the lifetime rust-through guarantee. I think it's just three years IIRC. But still, stainless steel with only 700 miles on them? I highly doubt you'll ever have that problem.

You won't regret coating them. I don't.
