What is better for headers?

Guys-

This is pretty stupid, but I am clueless here...

What size headers flow better? 1 5/8" or 1 3/4"?

I'm getting headers in a week and want the top quality / max performance availible. They will be SLP ceramic coated, but what size do I get?

My dad told me 1 5/8"s, but is that better than 1 3/4" ?

Thanks..

1 3/4 is bigger than 1 5/8. Here, lets' look at it with a common denominator: 1 3/4= 1 6/8... 1 6/8 > 1 5/8

Go with the 1 3/4. Then later you won't go, "Doh! I wish I'd gotten bigger headers.". They sure as hell aren't "hurting" my 305, and when I drop the bigger motor in, I won't have to buy another set, so that's $700 some bucks I won't be spending twice.

I know which one is bigger... but I wasn't sure what would work better for my setup... bigger isn't always better...

Eitherway, thanks for the clarification!
