Exhaust headache

First, apologies if this has already been answered, point me in the right direction. I'm having difficulty finding a transmission cross member to accommodate a dual exhaust system on my 84 Z28. Here's what I have. A generation 1 383 small block chevy paired with a TH350 transmission. I want to go with long tube headers but am having difficulty finding a transmission cross member that will work. The guy doing the exhaust system says (and I agree) that I need a cross member with notches to accommodate the exhaust pipes. I can find cross members for LS swaps that have the notches and provisions for the torque arm but nothing for my combination.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Sounds like you'll need to fabricate something from scratch if you're putting on a custom, true-duals-system.

Be sure to take and post pics of the project; they'll help the next guy who takes on the same job.

Re: Exhaust headache

Check out the hooker Blackheart crossmember. I feel like I recall them saying there's a provision for a TH350. It might be worth ordering to see if you can make it work. I love mine.

Re: Exhaust headache

Unfortunately, there’s no provision for the Hooker Blackheart crossmember to work with a TH350 transmission. The transmission mount location is too far forward to make that a possibility.
