Hooker 16767 y pipe problems

Anyone have problems with this thing. It wont line up for crap. I have gone through 3 pairs of gaskets. Reading old post the pipe was 3in to 2.5. This one is 2.5 all the was through. Almost wondering if i have a older set of headers that won't line up correctly with the newer style y pipe.

Re: Hooker 16767 y pipe problems

I am banging my head against the wall at the same problem... the flange itself is too big for the flared 2.5inch part of the y pipe that initially restricts the 3 inch headers. I’m going to try to loosen the headers even more to install them, and ever so slightly clearance my oil pan, because guess what, it hits that. I’m pretty disappointed this part is so difficult to install for being 300 dollars. I’d like to avoid welding up the flanges like someone suggested. Any luck on installing them?

Hopefully you don't have to cut them up like I did mine...

I bought a Doug's y-pipe, it'll need the flanges welded to seal as well, but I can handle that. Half the price of the Hooker pipe.
