Passenger side header flange clearance issue with K-member...
I recently installed new motor mount (see below) this improved the clearance, but the loose flange still rests on the k-member and will not seat completely against the bell end. the wider clamshell is installed on passenger side, see below, compared to left.
considering raising the motor with either washers under the clamshell or under the mount.
prefer not to go to poly mounts.
tranny is a T56 on a Spohn cross member with solid rubber mount. all looks good there, mount is centered and all still looks new. could install a shim under tranny mount (have one from a poly trans mount I used once but removed due to vibration) but concerned about drivetrain alignment.
any other recommendations?
hitting the spot on the k with a BFH may be difficult with the motor in place.
installing the energy suspension poly mount on the trans raised it a good 1/2" over the stock rubber mount (without the included spacer) and gave me a good 1/4" clearance at the collector flange, don't know if the spohn cross member is lower, slightly, than the stock cross member, or if I've changed my driveline geometry from stock.
