Exhaust

Hi all new to the group..Just got this 1988 IrocZ a few months back for my wife for out anniversary..Do you think this exhaust would be causing the car to spit and sputter??
This exhaust is so small I can take my Index Finger and Thumb and put it together around it..
Thanks,
John

Re: Exhaust

No idea what might be the specific cause of your 'spit and sputter' problem (you'll need to provide much more info in order for anyone here to attempt a diagnosis), but I can tell you that such a restriction in the exhaust system will definitely cause a reduction in engine power output.

When tracking down a problem, it's always smart to fix the obvious stuff first; replace that jack-leg pipe with the correct piece, and then go from there.

Re: Exhaust

Wow that is awful, I fixed a similar issue on my friends firebird and a weird lag problem he had when hitting the gas went away

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Exhaust

I think that's the worst violation of that sort I've ever seen.

It's a crime and a sin to deprive some deserving lawn mower of its old exhaust like that.
