Exhaust tone difference with cam swap

I have a 305 TBI motor and have been thinking of buying an LT1 cam for it. After the swap would the tone of my exhuast change at all? Would the pattern change at all or not enough to be noticable? I love the sound of a rough idling motor. My exhaust is stock to the catalytic converter and then duals out the back with no muffler. Would headers make any difference in tone or just volume ? Just want to say thanks for any help in advance.

A cam swap will change the exhaust sound a bit. I haven't heard a 305 TBI with LT1 cam, but just from what I know, I wouldn't imagine it to be overly "lopey" sounding, but should definitely sound better than the stock LO3 cam. Headers change both the tone, and the volume of the exhaust, but in the case of my car, the overall "feel" of the exhaust changed more than the volume (didn't get much louder, just throatier).
