AIR compatible cat and headers

Hey guys, I have an '88 GTA (5.7L). I bought it last year and I'm looking to do some maintenance work and some mild mods in the years to come. The owner before me had a 3inch catback exhaust put on it which sounds great, but I'd like to change the factory cat, since it was never replaced.

My question is, are there any known high flow (and smaller) cats that I can bolt on to the exhaust that are AIR compatible? And secondly, are there any good shorty headers that are AIR compatible that I can put in without changing anything in the engine bay or the exhaust piping?

I'm not 100% against removing the AIR system, but I'd like to leave it in if I can.

Thanks all!

I believe Dyno Don's headers may be at the top of the list. Hooker also makes a header with air tubes. For a cat, I went with a Magnaflow high flow cat and it blew through the last etest the car had to do with flying colors.

I have a brand-new set of Hedman headers with the y pipe that are made to use with the factory air system, $250 + shipping they’re yours

Thanks buddy! Do you happen to know the part number for the magnaflow cat you used?

It looks like I can't send you a PM. Can you let me know the part numbers, I just want to do some research on them.

Re: AIR compatible cat and headers

It's been some years since I bought it, I got the 3" in/out. I will have to glance on their website to look at the cats they sell.
