Race headers for 86 iroc
Race headers for 86 iroc
I’ve got a 1986 IROC with a 383 Stroker, Holley 850, forged internals, domed pistons, aluminum heads with angle plugs that sits on solid motor mounts which ended up raising the engine up at least an inch if not more. I have tried headman long tubes that wouldn’t fit, as well as some short tube “car” headers that clear the factory k-member. The short tubes fit but are 1 1/2” tubes and restrict the hell out of the car and need to find a set of 1 3/4” tube minimum headers that would possibly fit. I would really like to avoid the trial and error method of ordering, testing, returning. I know that sometimes that’s just how you have to get it done but I just thought maybe someone on here has messed with something relative to what I’m trying to achieve. Any direction or tip is much appreciated!
This is also a full race car so no emissions or looks are a factor. If some one used a set of $200 circle track headers that worked I’m all for whatever fit!

Imho, it sounds like the best option would be to do something about the engine mounts. Then use headers meant for the chassis.
