dual cat headers on single cat car

i have a chance to get some edelbrock coated headers from a dual cat car real cheap. my car is a single cat. There is no y-pipe included. can this be made to work?

Without the y-pipe, there should be no difference between single- and dual-cat headers.

Perhaps someone who's seen them side-by-side can respond if incorrect.
