Catalytic Converter Gaskets?...

Some here may have seen my other thread where I mention that I removed my CAT to check the condition. It's the 1984 Corvette type with 4 bolts on each flange.
There were no gaskets on these flanges, but I know that gaskets are available, so I am wondering if a P.O. removed them, or if it never had them to begin with.
'Anyone here know if they came from the factory with gaskets? I know the exhaust manifolds didn't...

Re: Catalytic Converter Gaskets?...

There were gaskets originally. At least there were on my car. Started getting hard to find around the turn of the century.

I always used to just get sheets of gasket material and cut em out.

Re: Catalytic Converter Gaskets?...

Yeah, I already have one new gasket. I ordered it by mistake a few years ago (thought it was for something else) from NAPA and never returned it.
So if it's supposed to have gaskets, I'll need to get only one more...

Re: Catalytic Converter Gaskets?...

All the factory ones I've seen didn't have a gasket.
