The longest and most expensive Hedman headers install ever

I got this Hedman 68478 and 17478 setup on EBay used from a renowned third gen parts seller located in the USA. Ceramic coated headers and y pipe with ball collectors. Long story short I got dicked over hard by the seller and it’s taken me 2 years to get them back into usable shape.

Out with the old “Mr Gasket” setup. Leaky and low slung, I couldn’t even pretend to drive over speed bumps without laying pipe.

And in with the new.

Tomorrow I hope to get the y pipe hung, then I can measure for the “test pipe”.

Random question. Does your brake booster vac line have 2 check valves? The inline canister style and then the grommet fitting on the booster itself?

What you see in the pictures I believe to be factory. 2 owner car, I’ve never modded that arrangement.

Vacuum line off back of carb goes to canister, then to check valve on booster.

The black canister is a vapor filter of some kind. I've never cut one open to see what's inside. It was used on carbureted cars.
