Greetings !?!? I did a search here and Holley, but can't find specifics...
I need to replace the hardware / bolts and gasket where the headers connect to the y pipe...
Size of gasket / brand recomendation, bolts, nuts, etc... ???
Thanks,
Emailed Holley, still waiting...
So I removed the y pipe and see this.
1st Question ?
Is there supposed to be a gasket?
How Thick?
I can get measurements now...
Ball and socket flange connections don't use a gasket. Factory manifolds to Y-pipe, 86-92 cat to I-pipe, some headers to y-pipe (Hooker 2055, Hedman, Dyno Don, standard SLP, probably some others too) have ball and socket connections. Hooker 2460 and Doug's 3320 have flat flanges and require gaskets. But ball and socket connections work similarly to compression fittings, where you pull one side into the other side and snug it up tightly. I guess you could probably smear some type of "liquid" copper gasket maker/sealer in there, and it may or may not help, but that's not how they come.
Update... Single bolts that thread into the shorty header...
Hooker has NO info on them, I'll be getting replacements since mine are a bit worn (jet hot coating ate up the threads a bit) and I'll update on the specifics of the bolts, FYI...
Called Hooker, so old, they had no info.
Went to Ace and found replacements
