Hi guys, it's time I get back to the '88 Trans-Am. I'm putting it together with a Vortec 350 and was wondering if I could install the engine with the Hedman shorties installed. I know I removed the 305 with the exhaust manifolds installed without a problem. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron.

 

I could pull the engine with a set of 1 5/8th edelbrocks on but I'm positive it won't clear with the 1 3/4 slp's I have now. All things considered, they weren't that bad to do with the engine in. Depends on how much you've bolted in already. Small header you might make it but they aren't hard to do in car.

 

Thanks for the reply aliceempire. That's kind of what I was thinking, I was just trying to save the old back a little bit. I'll put the engine in without the headers. Thanks again, Ron.
