Hey guys. Just as title states. I tried searching but didn't really see a definitive answer. Will the MagnaFlow 16450 bolt right up to stock manifolds on a 1990 350 iroc? I rather replace and keep original in shop then hack it up.

Yes it will bolt up to the factory H.O. cast iron manifolds on all 5.7L TPI F-body engines. All of the F-body L98 engine cast iron manifolds from 1987 to 1992 and all LB9 engine cast iron manifolds from 1985 to 1989 and all 1990 to 1992 LB9 engine cast iron manifolds on cars factory equipped with the N10 dual cat exhaust system. It won't fit 1990 to 1992 LB9 single catalytic convertor equipped F-body cars.

You must have the passenger side H.O. exhaust spacer or it won't fit at all.

Your 1990 IROC-Z came factory equipped with the N10 dual catalytic exhaust system though. That Magnaflow Y-pipe is for 1986 to 1989 TPI F-body cars with a H.O. single catalytic convertor exhaust system.

Are you intending to convert your 1990 5.7L IROC-Z with a N10 dual cat system to a single cat H.O. exhaust system?

 

Not exactly sure about the "cat back" yet. But looking for something that bolts right up that i can do at home and not hacking up my stock dual cat system.

Thanks very much for the links. I have a 3 inch flowmaster cat back already. Was kind of looking for a "cat free" option. That's why I asked about the MagnaFlow 16450.

 

You could use the Magnaflow single cat Y-pipe but you will need to have made a pipe to go from the outlet to the inlet of your Flowmaster cat back.

I don't plan on doing headers until I redo the whole topend. I have a feeling alot of those exhaust bolts are going to break off.

That's actually one of the ones that I found searching for the y pipe. It just didn't definitively say the 90 plus..... or I overlooked it.

The Y-pipe is specific the the exhaust manifolds it's used with. The Magnaflow single cat and the Magnaflow dual cat Y-pipe must be used with the H.O. exhaust manifolds and passenger side H.O. exhaust manifold spacer. Non H.O. manifolds exit in a different location on the passenger side and both have smaller diameter exhaust outlets.

All 1985 to 1989 TPI engines have the TPI H.O. manifolds. All 5.7L L98 TPI engines have the TPI H.O. manifolds and all 1989 to 1992 F-body cars with the N10 dual cat exhaust system have the TPI H.O. manifolds. 1990 to 1992 F-body TPI cars that don't have the N10 dual cat exhaust system have the low output exhaust manifolds and low output exhaust system from the L03 5.0L Throttle Body Injection engine F-body cars.
