Exhaust questions... how hard is this?

Well,
How many exhaust brackets actually hold up the exhaust stuff?
And how hard would it be to go through and replace all of them??

(I would check myself, but I am not at a place where I can put the car on a lift and look.....)
I would like to replace them in the near future to rid myself of a squeak that will not go away.... I believe that the mounts are the problem.....

Hopefully someone can help me out!

There's two brackets at the muffler, and one at the catalytic converter (assuming a standard single cat, stock-style exhaust setup). The front is help up by the manifolds.

Sagging motor-mounts and tranny-mount can effect the height of the exhaust system as well. Replacing my mounts alone gave me an additional 1/2" clearance under the car.

If you have a squeak caused by exhaust brackets, it probably means they are almost rusted through... It won't be hard to replace them, just frustrating and time consuming....There really arent that many though, depending on year/model.

Thanks for the info....

judging from where the sound seems to be emitting from.... it must be the bracket near the cat....

I need to look into changing that one.
Thanks!
