need help redoing the exhaust
I've been looking at the flowmaster series both the force II and the thunder, i'm looking at the 3" cat back, dual exhaust. I've heard that they are the best for the money, yet i was also looking at hooker cat back exhaust system i believe it's the one with the Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers, and there's always the dynomax and the edelbrock ones but my friend keeps on telling me to go with FLOWMASTER, anyone have any opinions? This is probably a stupid question but i'm going to as anyways, what's better, bolt on kit or getting it welded? Is it just installation convience or is there are difference in performance? Thanks in advance. Mike

I have the Thunder flows. I liked them a lot at first. Then like anything else I got use to it. Now I'm thinking of swaping the muffler to a 1 or 2 chamber.
The hardest part about the kit is getting the Y-pipe on. After that its cake.

I've heard both,and I went with Hookers
the sound has more Rumble and Bark to it than the Vrooom of the Flowmaster
IF everyone around you has Flows, then Hookers will make your car stand out. (Hookers sound kinda like Winston Cup cars)
Most kits will/can be assembled with just the bolts, but welding is reccomended, or stuff vibrates loose. You should be able to find a shop that will hang and tack weld the whole system for about $100.

thanks a lot i'm also looking at headers, the hookers comp looks good but how much of a hp gain do u think i'll get? SLP headers are like 400 is there that big of a difference? BTW this is leading up to a LT1 cam swap, super victor intake and vortec heads, what do u think would be the best headers for that setup? Thanks.
