cat back
cat back
I'm both cheap and poor, and i want a better exhaust system. I have an lg 4 with stock 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 cat, but want to step up to 3 in. I was looking at dynomax, if i get the system for a tpi 305 or 350 single cat, will it be 3in? Is it worth it to mate it up to my stcock cat now, or should i just wait until i do the 350 and headers- i'm getting a set of slp 1 3/4 from a buddy, but no y pipe. Can i obtain the slp y pipe only from anywhere? i plan on putting on a random tech cat with the headers, and no air, because random techs don't use an air tube i believe.

I'm cheap, too. Gotta watch that, though, sometimes it ends up costing you more money.
Like getting a universal 3" slip-fit cat instead of a direct-fit for $20 more. Spent that and a little more in expanding, additional pipe & clamps. Doesn't look as good, either.
But, the TPI single cat cat-back will be 3". If you do hook it up to your stock LG4 cat, be sure you don't do anything permanent to the I-pipe.
My guess would be you'd be better off waiting until you do the entire exhaust from heads to rear bumper. Include that direct-fit cat when you do.
I don't know a lot about SLP, but I think you can get the y-pipe by itself.

thanks for answering, but will the i pipe on the dynomax system be 3in? and can anyone tell me if the tail pipes on the dynomax go straight out or turn down? I'm planning on yanking off the cat and putting the cat back on until i put on headers when i replace the 192,000 mile 305 with a mild 350, then i will be sticking in a random technology cat, and all will be done in time for the next emission test.
