Headers
I need help, I have a 383 stroker and I need headers. I have been looking at hooker 1 3/4" LT headers but I have heared that there is a clearance problem. Is there a noticable difference between LT and shortie headers? I dynoed at 257rwhp and 373rwtq with stock exhaust manifolds and 2 factory cats. How much HP+TQ would I gain with headers and taking off the cats? Is it worth the extra $ for ceramic coated headers? Who has the best bang for the buck?
Thanks for the help

i just got my shorty headers from heddman and they are nice i cant tell you how much more hp you will be getting but go with headers. as for long tubes i had them on mine at frist and it was just a big PIA for me way to much money to finish the rest of the exhuast off. so i just went to shorties. and as for coating them i think its more for looks and i have heard then keep a little cooler under your hood too. but if you have the extra cash coat them that is if you have some chrome else where under your hood.

think if you go with a ceramic coating that will help keep the heat inside the exhaust tubes and that should help velocity of the gas I think...
also with a nice coating you will be less prone to have the header rust. it will also help keep underhood temps a little lower
