On my monte i cut off the exhaust.....stuck the end of the cherry bomb into the end of my cat ....clamped her home ..............it sounds REAL MEAN....but...i cant even hear my music....if i'm driving down the road ...i turn the music up full blast...then when i come to a stop...i have to turn it down...when i accelerate...i have to turn it up....its cool for a beater but.. not for a third gen..........IMO

pretty much...do what you want............i'd at least go with a cheap jc whitney exhaust before going to a cherry bomb.........

Cherry Bomb does make other mufflers besides glasspacks.

I've seen two other mufflers that were Cherry Bombs at Autozone. One was ~$15, and the other ~$30. They are regular oval mufflers like any other.

IIRC, they're called a Turbo ($15) and a Super Turbo. ($30)

The oval Cherry Bombs are the turbo style as mentioned above and they sound like a normal turbo muffler, only they burn out faster. Glasspacks are just annoying mufflers; they dont even sound mean just raspy.

it also depends on the size of them as well... I mean, a small one, yeah it'll be loud as hell... but the larger 32" ones ... those are great for a really deep subwoofer type rumble ... I enjoy mine currently like that (its right on the Y-pipe so it sounds very interesting)

Not bad until I can get the $$ for a custom dual setup with 2" oval pipe on each side (I've got a manual so I'm getting custom headers done in SS and having them coated) ... no idea what I'm going to use for mufflers though... nor where it'll exit

Well Well Well.... A Lot more responce then I expected.... Yeah I will be going with the longer and thicker version of the "Glass Pack" Cherry Bomb.... I had one on my v6 91 AshBird (Dead Now) and it gave it a low mellow racing rumble.... I liked it.... I was considering puttin it on the 305 v8.... I appreciate all the responce... I will be putting a sound clip as soon as I get one on.... (2-3 days....) Thanks for all your responce.

My GTA has a cherry-bomb glass pack in place of the standard muffler. It's not really all that loud, I'm guessing because it's still got the stock POS intermediate pipe to quiet it down. At first I didn't care so much for the sound... I thought the car sounded like a truck, but after I got used to it, I don't mind it so much.

That being said, glass packs are pretty restrictive. Yes, you can see right through it, but the perforations that bottle-neck the inner diameter really kill flow. A muffler like a Dynomax Ultra Flow or Edlebrock RPM, or any other similar style will outflow a cherry bomb.

If you want it loud use a 32in turbo tube!!!! If I were to cut the timing gear noise from my truck that has dual 24in glasspacks and compare the sound from my firebird, 1, 32in turbo tube replacing cat 3in od pipe straight back split into two pipes, stock exits, the firebird sounds alot louder and meaner. The firebird has stock exh manifolds and the truck has headders.
