Mounting Cherry Bomb on 88 GTA

Am I going to have to get new tailpipes to fit around the gas tank ? My stock muffler, which is as quiet as snow falling on a calm day in the woods, has 2 outlets, and each outlet has a tailpipe coming out, which has to bend around the gas tank on it's way toward the back of the car.

Is the Cherry Bomb going to be shorter than the stock muffler, and will it have 2 outlets ?

Do they make a Cherry Bomb with 2 outlets ?

In other words, will I be able to get a C.B. muffler which fits my car and which will just fit right in ??? And will it cost much ?

Thanks

ROTFLMAO! BWHAHAHAHAHA! CHERRY BOMB, OH MAN! That is'nt a gas tank your exhaust goes around, thats your rear hatch compartment. The gas tank sits above the rear end.

How about some side pipes too ?

Only joking,,
Not knocking your choice in exhaust,, it's your car. I've never seen a dual outlet cherrybomb,, but I've never looked very hard for one either. Chances are that it will not just go right in w/o some mods to the exisiting piping.
C.B's are usually cheap in price, $12-$30(and quality) and can be gotten at any parts store or ordered from JCwhitney, Jegs, etc.

Btw, the outlet pipes go around the trunk well

there are some great posts on pickign a muffler in thies board, look around at past posts. i tried the cherybomb deal, they are longer than the regular muffler and dont look good at all, yo ucould try welding one inline in th eintermediat pipe after the cat, then haveing a y pip spliting it to 2 tailpipes on either side. but for the cost of that you could get an entire dynomax catback, (not to loud) or go for a hooker aerochamber or flowmaster muffler and use your stock pipeing,

good luck

OK, OK, my mistake. Not the gas tank ! I'll look through the archives for muffler talk. I am trying to find a convenient "upgrade" from bone stock quiet muffler to something that can be heard. Not looking to go wild with headers, etc, just looking for a "good" sounding muffler that will let the 350 be recognized.
