SLP or Edelbrock

I was wondering which one would be best for my 91RS Camaro TBI 305? I wanted SLP because a lot of people here like them. But it seems that it has some clearance issue with the plugs.

What do you guys think..

I just had the SLP 1 5/8 installed, no plug clearance issues.

I had to switch to a slightly shorter plug and 90 spark plug boots when I put on my SLP 1 3/4" headers. They fit fine now. Also check out this thread on why to go SLP:

1 5/8 = more torque 1 3/4 = more hp The 1 5/8 are great for the 305, but If you plan on doing an engine swap later on to get more cubes then go ahead and consider the 1 3/4.

Just some thoughts on the SLP 1 5/8 headers. I am using them on my ZZ4TPI. Absoluely no problem with my angle plug heads. Easier than the stock L98 heads to change plugs. However, the flanges on the SLP's are so thick, it's about impossible to get a 3/8 12 point wrench or socket on most of the bolts. I had to take my grinder and "clearance" the headers. Other than that, everyone comments on what a quality built header the SLP's are.

Yeah, it's real tight around the header bolts.I'm using the ARP SS 12 point bolts and had to grind down a 12 point 3/8" box wrench. It's real thin, but so far I haven't broken it.

That's odd you have had problems with clearance for the header bolts. It's tight, but I'm able to fit my 12 point 3/8" wrench around them no problem.

For RS91:
That part number is just the headers and y-pipe. You'll need the install kit also and probably the cat adaptor.

As for where to get them, check out the Spohn SLP group purchase thread at the top. You should be able to save about $100 or so going through him.

need serious help

I have a 92 Z-28 Camaro.With air and Smog control.

This car is a 350 TPI L-98

Problem is somebody took the catalytic converter off.

So what SLP application will I need and this might be a dumb

question. But will I need a catalyitic converter for these headers

to work.

Also the 92 Z-28'S were they single or dual cats?

Thanks people
