SLP 3" cat back

I just installed the SLP 3" cat back. it is a true 3" pipe, but they squarsh the intermediate pipe where it goes over the track bar.
so the nice 3" pipe has a flat spot in it.

It didn't need to be squarshed. it would have made it just fine with a little clearance. Oh well, they ruined a nice system.

I think they did that because the factory 2.75" inch pipe is also flattened to go over the track bar, but it would have made it being round.

Not to mention I don't like the tail pipes, but that is another story. I might angle cut them so they look more like OE discrete tail pipes.

yeah, there was no need to make a flat spot in the pipe. my tail pipes already has an agle cut.

I just installed mine about a week ago. The flat spot does seem alittle large. Just remeber though when your putting it on the rear suspension is out as far as it will go. When you have the car on the ground there is not a whole lot of clearance. I haven't looked at it yet with the suspension fully compressed. I imagine there is no room left for a 3" pipe. Other than that I really like mine. its quite with a deep rumble at idle. I don't know what it sounds like at WOT, I guess I'll have to let a friend drive it and stand along the road.

the track bar doesn't move up and down with the suspension. It's just a frame stiffening brace. so what ever clearance is there is there no matter where the suspension is.

You have the twin left tail pipes? do you like them?
