The old exhaust debate...

Well, since Magnaflow has discontinued the 3rd gen kit I'm back again to trying to decide on a cat-back. I think I have it narrowed down to the Random Technology and Borla cat-backs. Here's my thoughts on each:
Random Tech.
pros:
cost
dual single exhaust tips

cons:
aluminzed
sound (relative to Borla, I like Borla a little better but haven't heard a lot of Random Tech.)

Borla
pros:
stainless steel
sound

cons:
cost
dual dual tailpips

Both will give a great increase in performance. I'm looking for opinions and thoughts here.
If anyone has sound clips and/or pictures of these systems, I'd love to see/hear them. Thanks.

Hooker. That's it, nothing else. Cheap, increases hp, nice looking dual tipped pipes, and great sound. Sound clip is in the signature.

I had a feeling you'd show up I just don't think those dual dual tips are for me. If I could find something stainless I'd like that too. I was all set on the magnaflow, but the 3rd gen kit is discontinued, but I am thinking of adapting the LT1 kit. We'll see...

BTW: Hooker probably is my next choice though

You can always get different tips, they're not connected.

Those Hooker quad tips will grow on you, I didn't like them at first and now I think they are badass.

There is a new line of mufflers called Xlerator"yeah that's how it is spelled" that is along the lines of the Magnaflow.
The X125 is a transverse style for the 3rd Gen but the Guinie pig I tend to be am opting for the X136 single 3 inch in-dual 2.5 out the other end truck muffler..Pretty neat design internally that should do the trick.Very cost effective alternate to Borla ect. Will be a month or so before I can give any feedback on the sound though. It is non chambered and should give the old Mucsle car sound.
