Headers vs Intake

Hey, I have a buddy with an 88 Formula 350... Interesting in getting some more power out of it.

Wanted me to come on here and get people's in put about what he should do-- He's thinkin ether swap out the headers or just do some intake stuff. So what do you guys think?? What would get better power cheaper?

I'd say do the exhaust work first, always. Make the car able to get air out faster before you get it to pull in air faster. Plus it'll sound cooler

Always go with free flowing exhaust first, especially since the stock manifolds and y-pipe are so much more restrictive than the TPI intake.

headers make a world of difference!!!! I have personal experience with hedmen smog legal shorties (wish I had bought no-smogs because I am exempt now) I can cap off the A.I.R. tubes with no concerns about power loss though, the Y-pipe will meet the cat,if you don't have a round cat, then it's time to replace the catback, might as well. i don't know what to do if you have dual cats.

with the exhaust you will get be able to clean out the cyl more to get a better inake charge
also you will prolly have lower underhood temps which will help get denser air into th ecar
sound!!
less pumping loss as well

go with the exhaust first
easy choice
