Got A Hooker!!
Ooohh! I wanna post on this one!
Ok, I'm all settled down now. Alright. As I understand it, the air tubes supply fresh air to the exhaust gasses at whatever the hottest point in the system is. I can't remember what this is designed to reduce (NOx, HC, CO, etc)...somebody help me on that one. I do know about Ga emissions testing though. Where are you located in Ga? I'm pretty sure only the metro Atlanta area gets tested. At least, that's the area I am familiar with. www.cleanairforce.com has a little info, but not a whole lot. The visual inspections they have are pretty easy to pass. Basically they check to see if you have a catalytic converter, that your gas cap holds pressure, and that there are no obvious exhaust leaks. Other than that, nothing really matters except the gasses that come out of your tailpipes. For instance, I had an 84 Camaro with a 350, no Carter carb, no computer, no air injection system, no EGR system, and heddman shorty headers (no emissions fittings or O2 sensor). The only emissions equipment on the car was a catalytic converter. As long as it was in good tune, it passed the dyno smog test ok. Anyways, hope this helps a little. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know.

yea that helps alot Thanks. I live in gwinnett county, lawrenceville to be exact. where did u live?
yea all they do around here is stick something in the tailpipe and pressure check the gas cap. But I wasent sure if takeing the tubes off would affect the ol tailpipe test.

I'm from Conyers, go to school at Ga Tech in downtown Atlanta, but am in Charlotte for a few months right now. Anyways, my guess is that you'd still be able to pass without them. At least, as long as your car is tuned up and running well. Hope it works out for you.
