Can you ID headers?
I am probably going buy this 85 z28. I just looked at it again and noticed that it has headers on it. It seems to then go into twin (dual) exhaust al the way back. I would guesstimate 1-5/8" primaries into 2 or 2-1/2" pipes all the way back, even two muffelers (which are really small but very quiet). I couldn't see any cats or x-pipe (the ground was wet and cold and i had on nicer clothes).
Also, there is an exhaust leak which i think is coming from the rear most passenger side cylinder (7 or 8?). There seems to be a sizable gap between the header and head.
any way to tell what kind of header i have, or does it not even matter as far as performance?

noone has any ideas? Come on, i know some one here knows more about this than i do.
Are they long tubes or shorties. I think hooker are the only guys who make long-tube headers. If they are shorties then they could be headman, hooker, slp, or edelbrock. SLP and headman both usally have a tag on the #1 primary. Long tubes will out perform shorties, but ground clearence is a problem. Shorties are pretty much all the same, some are better quality than others and will yeild a few more ponies, don't worry about that untill you start approaching ~400 h.p.
