Will Headers Cause Heat Problems

Hey

I have a 1985 IROC Z Camaro and I am thinking about getting some SLP headers for my camaro. When I am driving in the city stopping at red lights and what not the engine temperature goes to the second notch on the gauge. I am wondering if headers will make the engine hotter, which I dont want. Thanks for the help.

Get them coated.

Looks good, protects against rust, AND helps lower engine temp by channelling heat through your exhaust better.

Only other necessary adjustment with headers is that you will need new spark plug wires.

Headers run cooler than manifolds. And like said get them coated and it will help a lot. Be sure to get wire looms, to protect spark plug wires, I've bought my 4th set before realizing I needed to invest in some protection.

Last I heard to get them coated cost a arm and a leg. Anybody know the price on that?

IROC_cragg, I love the look of your car. I think I'd like to get an IROC someday.
