i just installed SLP headers and y-pipe.. and i needed a cat adapter.. and being me I forgot to order it. And it will be at least a week before i get the cat adapter in.. So now i have a huge gap inbetween my cat and y-pipe. and its TOO loud to drive anywhere. i thought about cutting a piece of the stock y-pipe and sticking it in there Temporarily. but one end is round and the other end is all weird shaped, so i don't know if it would fit or not. plus i want to be able to sell the stock manifolds and y-pipe for $40 or so.... does anyone know what i can use for a temp. cat adapter????

I just installed headers on mine this wendsay. It took longer than expected because i ran into minor problems (like the stock y pipe being tack welded onto the cat and being to long for clearance reasons). I knew that the stock Y was gonna have to go. I used a cutter tool to remove the tack weld. I pulled the y off. By the time I finished it was 8:00PM and the muffler shop wasnt going to be open till 9:00AM the next day. I was about 10 miles from my house (I did it at a shop that my cousin works at, and it saved me a bunch of headaches). I drove the car home with the headers unplugged. It was so loud that i could feel the vibrations throughout the floor of my car. It was kinda funny too because if I revved over 1500RPM it became so damn loud I thought the sound police would get me for sure. When I got home my little boy ran out with this confused look on his face. Then the next day I drove it to the muffler shop and I floored it on purpose. When will be the next time I get to drive a car that sounds like an all out race car. When picked the car up later that day I was kinda dissapointed that it wasnt loud anymore, but I was pleasantly surprised by the deeper tone my car took.

ha ha! i really like the part about your boy running out all confused! kid prob
thought you bought a harley! anyways, if your driving that only to a shop,
just stick anything on there, who cares seeing if its only like 5 - 10 miles away!
and if you get pulled over, just tell the cop that your going to a shop, unless
the cops a complete donut-eatin dick, he shouldnt write any tickets!
