Hey guys i have an 89 witht 3 inch single cat. i was thinking of terminating the exhaust pretty close to the cat. Something like.....headers to big y pipe to cat to muffler...to either side exhaust or turn down, preferably side exhaust. Anyone done this before...im realizing the ground clearance issues...how loud?

 

With the turndowns, pretty loud because the sound waves hit the pavement, and bounce back up to you. It also doesn't help that you're practically sitting right on top of it. As for the side exit, it won't be as loud, but you won't forget it's there. You also have to be careful not to melt your gfx.
