I'm getting ready to have my SLP Tri-Y's Jet-Hot coated in Cast Iron Gray but before I do need a favor from you guys. The guy I bought my headers from on this board (Keith) cut off the fitting that the dipstick tube went through on the passenger side header. I need a good picture of it so I can recreate it before I have them coated. I already called SLP and they said they can't even remember what it looked like or what I could use to replicate it so that's why I need pictures
Thanks!
BTW, how many of your guys have your Tri-Y's Jet-Hot coated? Are you happy? What does Jet-Hot do about the treading on the bung for the 02 sensor?

Thanks!

Hey i dont have any slp headers coated, but i have had headers and stuff on 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers done......Its the best stuff out there i would say..... Muddy water and stuff wont even stick the the hot headers and the little that does will wipe right off when im done rideing and it is cooled down...it is very durable you cant scratch the stuff at all.. I'll take a picture tonight, e-mail me to remind me because I don't get back from night class until 10:30 and I might forget.
BTW, I think the coating is only for looks. If I had a car show car I MIGHT coat my headers but considering they're 10 years old and made of thick stainless I don't think it's worth the extra money. I'll just use some steel wool and wipe off the surface rust when it goes into a looks pretty contest
.
Best part about these headers are their thick flanges. If I felt like it I could shave off the air injection pipes, tap the holes and just insert a bolt...I've got a half inch to play with!
While you're installing the headers, make sure you use anti-seeze and stainless bolts on the y-pipe/collector flange! I had to get the original steel bolts torched off and that's a $20 and 2 days I wish I could have back.

That's exactly what I'm doing it for is the looks, I want them to look new forever. I had them hot dipped and they look great but they are just going to dis-color again soon unless I coat them
I'll send you an email right now so it's in your mailbox for tonight
