After trying to realign the decklid on my GTA my rear glass exploded. So now I'm looking for a replacement. I'd prefer an 86 for the brake light up high, but any year with the wrap around spoiler will work. I don't care what kind of shape the spoiler is in, I had already bought a replacement from Hawks. Just looking for one with no rust, and must have the defroster grid. Since there's probably no way to ship this, I'm looking for something within a few hundred miles of Stauton, VA.

I can't help you out, but gotta ask....Exploded! Did that happen while tightening the hinge bolts?

 

Yes, exploded. I never touched the hinge bolts. I had the hatch resting on a pack of paper towels to keep it propped up a bit, and I laid the new silicone and bolted the metal decklid back to the glass. It was like a 5 minute delay, I was standing back admiring my work. I thought I had done a good job and then boom! It exploded, most pieces didn't go far, but some glass went at least 30 ft away.

 

I'm a bit far away, but I do have a good condition 86 TA hatch. No wing, but complete otherwise with third brake light and defroster.
You could always take a vacation in Vermont
