Hi Beth- still got these full assemblies? Any diff on the small vs large pin? I’m looking to downgrade from the (fubar’d) power antennae on my ‘89 so I suspect may not matter.

Yes, sir, I do. I think I only have the small plug in stock right now, but an adapter can be bought for $8 or so. I may have one though.

Ah ok np. Not urgent so lemme know please when you next come across a working large pin assembly and I’ll buy it from you. (Still kiiinda like the power so gonna try the crown 56003151 for the balance of summer but want a fixed on hand to simplify later.)
Btw I was curious which years were small pin and which large?

The small pin is a later change, like 89-up or something like that.
One thing to note about the small pin, the crimped hex just before the 90* bend, just happens to fit tight in most aftermarket radios setup for a large pin antenna. So alot of the time, with an aftermarket radio you don't even need the adapter, just push the small pin plug in a bit further and it'll fit. Of course the adapters are easy to come by, they used to be an under $10 item from the car stereo section at Kmart or Walmart.

Thanks Drew. So I guess it is the back of the UX1 that changed slightly later on.
Beth in that case I’ll snag the remaining one. Over to PM.

Yep, somewhere in the 89-90 range they changed over to the small pin antenna and the one piece wire harness plug. It's not exactly a hard and fast rule, because some or most GM cars changed over early, while some trucks like my 92 S10 still had the early plugs.
For example... The 88 Bird radio on the bottom (87 build date) has the large plugs. The 91 Bird radio on top (90 build date) has the small.
