Post dimensions you have for suspension parts

I'll reply to this post when I dig up my LCA and panhard bar length dimensions. What I would like this thread to become is reference material relative to suspension components. Bushing diameters and full dimensions. If somebody can give me dimensions I can through it into solidworks within a few minutes.
Heck, even brake caliper adaptor brackets could be posted here, maybe even rotor dimensions. Wheel spacers, STBs, SFCs, anything you've got and would be kind enough to share....

1" hex stock
5" long
2 1/2" of 5/8-18 right hand thread
2 1/2" of 5/8-18 left hand thread

it cost me nothing for the stock but it cost me les than $5.00 for the 5/8-18 RH-LH jam nuts from local hardware supplier.if i would have had to buy the odd 5/8-18 LH tap it would cost around $12 through J&L industrial supply.

Does anybody have dimensions to suspension bolt sizes? To be more specific, I'm looking for bolt sizes for the LCAs and panhard. I'd just take off the bolt myself but it's rusted to the point of no return.

I'm almost done with making a set of LCA relocation brackets and i plan on using 1/2 x 13 4" long bolt. Panhard rod bolts look to be about the same size as the LCA bolts.

I'll post pictures of my LCA relocation brackets when i'm done with them.

I got my steering brace halfway done this morning. Only difference in mine is Im using square SS 3/16 tubing, and SS flat stock. Im bored at work today, so after Im finished, Im gonna polish it and put some clear laquer on it..lol Im also boxing in my control arms today(hey nothing like getting paid time and a half for doing personal jobs..lol) What do the LCA relocation brackets do? Im debating on whether or not to use poly bushings or rubber when I put my LCA's back on. .....Also, there is a guy here that said when he had his 85 Z28...he made his torque arm adjustable....any truth in that? I might do that next weekend..lol

Some fastener sizes;
LCAs M12x1.75 100mm grade 10.9
Panhard M14x2 80mm grade 10.9
Grade 8 could probably be used for a daily driver but race cars should try to get the higher grade.
Torque arm to rear diff housing uses 9/16-12 7.5" length but 8" should work and is needed with aftermarket torque arms.
edit: I feel stupid. Turns out grade 10.9 on metric bolts is the equivalent to grade 8 .

Does anybody have the lengths of the LCAs and panhard bars? I lost an e-mail that had this info.
How about plans and dimensions for the LCA relocation brackets.
It would also be nice to have all of the plans for the various brake upgrade adaptor brackets.

Ummm.... your relocation brackets aren't welded to the rear? It looks like you just bolted them in from that last picture. I hope that's not the case.

If the rear axle was ever coerced into moving rearward, the LCARB's would tend to pivot, and could move enough to dislodge the torque arm from it's mount, and the driveshaft out of the trans.

That's cool.
I'm trying to get a foot hold in aero space alloy metal working, just think of parts like you have, but weigh half as much and twice as strong .
Or as strong as steel but 1/4 the weight.
If we could get some good dimentions on these parts I would love to make some parts out of Titanium 6 Al - 4 V alloy for my cars back home.
I would go all out, just have trouble finding round and square Titanium stock at cheap prices. I can get tons of top quality flat stock for dirt cheap.

It NEEDS to be welded in with your design. The link below is the only kind of "bolt-on" brackets that'll work. They use the shock mount to prevent it from rotating. What you did right now is dangerous, it needs to be welded to the old brackets to prevent it from pulling the driveshaft out of the trans!

oil pan 4, I have a bunch of Ti and we need flat sheet Ti, wanna trade? We got most of our Ti from the Air Force so you can bet it's good quality. We have Ti bolts that are thicker than a soda can, very funny watching somebody pick one up. "I thought it was steel...."
I always wanted to build Ti LCAs, panhard, torque arm. Then use a chromoly roll cage, CF everything else, lol. The 2400lb 3rd gen :lala: , too bad it would cost $$$$.

How thick you looking for?
I only have what I can weld mostly .071'' and thiner also a piece of .100'' floating around some where.
I will buy thicker at some point, when I can get a tig welder.
Most of it is back home in maine and I am waiting for my mom to mail it over to me.
I also bought some more cheap Ti and its on it's way, but don't know how long it will take it to get over to japan.
After I taim Titanium I think I will start working carbon fiber. My step dad can show me how to mold epoxys, acrilics (<sp?) and plastics, he makes $$$,$$$ making dentures.

We might have to work out a deal then. Our Ti stock is very large. Only troubles is it's mosly thick machinable stuff for our drivetrain on the FSAE car. We need flat stock to put together our uprights/spindles, suspension mounts, steering mounts, and engine parts.
As for CF work, I'm pretty good at it. Here's an intake I helped build. Our CF work is bar none the best at FSAE competition. There are a few other teams that are getting help with laying up CF but OSU was the first team in 2001 to have a full CF monocoque tub.

Thanks for the heads up
i've been playing around with the ideal of lowering the shock mount an inch to get back some of my shock travel, maybe i'll incorperate that with keeping my LCARB's 'bolt in'.

Well I have found good cheap sources of bar and tube Ti, but I have seen no trace of square stock.
Also can't find Titanium mesh for composites.
There was a post a while back of some one who made the own coil over spring locaters (I guess you could call them).
I'll see if I can find it and will search a few other boards for some thing new.

Heres a good one:
It's a coil over spring plate.

Only problem is no dimentions, I think people could make one like this as long as you have CAR do model it with. (Unlike me )

Front LCA bolts I think are M12 x 1.75 90mm and 110mm. If I pull them out I can mkeasure up the Del-a-lum bushings I bought and put up that info here...

Re: Post dimensions you have for suspension parts

With unwelded/un-shock-bolted LCARBs,I'd be more worried about them rotating forward, and pushing the DS into the tranny. It can't go backwards, pulling the DS out, because it is against the axle mount already.
