Too Much overkill?
I am building a car for open road rally racing, like the silver state, etc.
I just scored a huge four core radiator, 36"w 19" tall, and 4" deep.Brand new. I'm about to notch my frame to mount this thing.
Is this too much? The frame will be properly braced, and I'll be running a full cage all the way to the core support.

Fill it with water before you install it for 2 reasons. First to make sure no leaks because yes, new radiators can have leaks and secondly, because water is heavy! If you have an oversized radiator you are just adding extra weight over the front end. I'm a picky person so if the weight is negligable I'd still use what works... unless I had plans for a twin turbo big block daily driver.. lol. Might look into selling it but I have the feeling you, like everybody else including me, just want to have a cool looking engine bay

Seeing as how you are going to race it, I would say that this radiator is just cheap insurance when compared to the price of replacing a cracked block or rebuilding the rotating assembly if you over heat. Just remember; all the top end parts in the world aren't worth a damn if not properly installed. Just my 0.2$
