Hand Punches

This may be a long shot, but does anybody know if punches and dies are interchangeable from one manufacturer to another? I'm thinking of picking up a little hand punch from Harbor Freight, but it only comes with metric punches and dies. I'd like to be able to order some standard ones from mcmaster-carr, etc if the need came up...

Maybe, most of the whitney punches i've seen have at least looked pretty similar.

Maybe is always a good answer, huh
Thanks for the input though. I've always thought they looked the same so I'm glad to hear you do too. Actually, thinking about it more, for the few times I see myself using the thing, I can probably get by just fine with the metric punches included...

Thanks,
MikeS
