rear suspension

has anyone tried to put coil over (drag style) shock on the back of a 3rd gen rear?

i am thinking of trying it with a set of QA1 double adjustable coil-o
vers and removing the panhard bar and making a track bar like a 4-link or ladder bar setup!

anyone have any ideas

BTW the gas tank is coming out to allow a 8 gal cell to go into the sump since it is not really a street car

If it's the kit I'm thinking of, it's by competition engineering and Jegs and Summit both carry it, but it's for full frame vehicles, so you'd have to probably remove part of the subframe underneath and weld it in securly on an f-body.

You still have to run a panhard bar with these kits or you're going to have side to side movement. If you want to eliminate a panhard bar, you're going to have to go with a triangulated 4-link, like the early A-Body's, where you have to bars running parallel to the frame (or in this case the subframe rails), and two bars running at an angle from the center of the axle housing (sometimes mounted right on the differential, not a bad spot), to the two framerails.

I can shoot some pics and illustrate this more later when I have more time if you want.
