Fiberglass hood latch plate
I decided since I have 1/4 gallon+ of resin left I might as well use it for something so I started a new project. I'm making a plate on my firebird that will attach to the air plate and continue up the front support near the radiator.
I did some searching here's a fancy jap version of one out of carbon fiber.
Here's another on a camaro.
Here's how a firebird front hood tray looks (for you camaro guys
)
Mine would come over the turn signal tops, up over the support bar too right next to the radiator piece, and around the wormdrive/clog setup for the headlights. So there would be a cut out for the latch, 2 manual **** tops, rubber stops, and the hood latch piece that goes into the rectangle shaped hole (probably put a ridge around it).
It would be pretty much one big drop in bolt up piece. Hopefully that way I won't be loosing any more sockets into the car
.
What you guys think... Do I have to much time on my hands or is this a decent idea? I have right around 2.50 in this project so far (had to buy masking tape and brushes) I have all the fiberglass, foil, and resin I should need. I also have most of the cardboard brackets made up.

Go For It. I wanna see how it turns out. I may halfta tackle this myself. Probably out of aluminum. I've never liked that area on a Bird.

Ok the project has been started! I have 2 layers of biaxial on it should be plenty strong once I bondo up the piece to make it smooth. Still got to do some cutting for the holes. But you get the basic idea.
Probably trim back the pieces of the turn signals also so it lines up with the crease.
