Here's the one he made for me that I had painted. I hope to get it installed with Nordskog gauges in the next few months....

I notice most people are convinced on the autometers, but has anyone used any VDO gauges? It appears that they don't have the bezel that protrudes out as far as the autometers. They may give more room to clear the factory clear plastic on the 91-92s. Just a thought.

True, but don't you think they look a bit lower quality? Just a thought

Here's a pic that is a little better. I guess it is about what 'look' you are going for. I like the setup and look of Bottledz's gauges, but the Autometer Ultralites definately have a Nascar look. If I do mine, I'll probably go for a little more stock look.... like the VDOs or the Autometer Z series.

i personally think that the autometer guage is a better quality product and the people that work there are incredible and willing to bend over backwards to help you.

Is this OK. I am at work, so I am just getting these pics off my site. I can get better ones tonight if needed.

These things were a lot of work, so if anyone wants more pics or any details just ask....I hate the stock set up and would enjoy helping anyone else do the mod.

edit: This and many other pics are on my site. And if you click on them they get much larger. I have pics on there of the front, back, wiring, intall, and even all the steps as I made the panel....check it out and sign my guestbook, thx.

That looks really slick nova... how much did all that set you back? Actually how much does everyone think they spent on these? (including guages) Id really like to do this without breaking the bank...

I guess vast majority of the $$ is in the guages.

Could i get the look with cheaper guages? And would it be worth it?

yeah, i only have about $20 in the panel itself...but i made it. i imagine that you could probably get a similiar look with cheap guages, but they would probably be cheap looking.

I would not cheap out on guages.

If you wanna save $. Get and ebay account and keep your eyes peeled. I got many of mine off ebay.

70$ oil press guage for 20 shipped brand spankin new.

THAT is the way to save $, you will just get tired of looking at your cheap guages if you head the bad route.

The only ones I paid for in full were the 5" guages.

Panel cost me less than 20 bucks to make. Measuring and cutting is free,

completely different, they are cast into the IP assembly and all the gauges share the same circuit board.

yeah, i know that. i was more interested in how deep they are, cause just messing with a pedestal tach my dad has, it would require hacking up the dash which i dont really want to do, but from the pics in zephers thread, it looks like they are shallower
