Custom fuel injection?

Heres an idea, im just going to kick around...
if i get a TPI harness and ECM, and sensors (also what sensors do i need?) theres two 4cly fuel injection engines sitting in are shop right now... could i take the injectors and fuel rails and use them? then fab them to a intake... this seems like it would be cheap to me... theres engines and cars for that matter that come in and out of are shop with in days i could maybe even use sensors from other systems?
if need be... i woundnt be asking this if TPIS came into are shop but its been a good 4 years since we even got a Camaro in there... so there ya go i could be dreaming about this hole fabbing up my own cheapo fuel injection system
or maybe keeping my eye out for other systems that come in... blah
Inless someone wants to give me there hole tpi set up for cheap you can even keep your intake!

and my hole point in asking all this is... i hate TPI intakes and the after market ones are outta my price range, and id like to go as cheap as possible

Like what ede said... if you have enough time and money you can do anything you want. Your best bet would probably be to get a StealthRam (about $250.00) or one of the edelbrock intakes with the injector bungs welded in.

The BMW V12’s basically do that… they use one ecm per bank of 6 cylinders and pretty much 2 of everything, and I don’t know if there is anything synchronizing the 2 sides.

OTOH, I don’t see why anybody would bother… TPI stuff is common enough and many of the parts overlap (like you could get the ECM from multiple 4 and 6 cylinder setups, and then you’d just have to spend $50 at the dealer to get the V8 chip…)
