boxing in my lca's
alright so im going to box in my lca's and i was wondering if it would mess anything up if i cut the little lip off of the bottom and just made them square

No that wont mess anything up, just make sure the metal being welded in is about the same thickness as the LCA, Also Leaving some drain holes near the ends will help with getting water out, or weld them shut and dont worry about it
And dont forget to get some new bushings

While you're at it you might even consider welding a tube in the middle before boxing.

Welding a tube is just making them unnecessarily heavy, and the larger the crossection of the structure with the same amount of material the stronger it is, so adding the same amount of steel to the outside will result in a stronger arm
Cutting the sides off will also result in a weaker arm then leaving them.
FWIW, I’ve done this 2 different ways, in one case I just cut a sheet metal pattern that was the same thickness as what the arms were made of by tracing the arms and welding it on. The second way I’ve done it is buy just getting a 1.25” x 1/8” strip at the hardware store and just welding that the whole way across. Both work fine, just be careful to only weld about 1” at a time and space your welds well apart to keep from warping things… it won’t be as pretty but it will come out much better.
Here are a couple of pics of the ones done with the cut out sheet metal (eventually the bushings were replaced):

It's really much smoother then it looks but between the gloss paint, flash, halogen lighting and the stop/starting the welds look a little lumpy (this was right after I bought the welder also)

Crossfire: Why drill for zerk fittings? Is that for a certain type of bushing that takes normal grease, or do you use polybushing grease in a gun?
I just greased the outside of my sway bar bushing with the supplied tube, and put it in, without thought to a fitting, but that sounds like a neat addition....
