My 86 firebird hatchback liftgate assm. (the part with the motor, trunk latch and glide bars) doesn't work.
Thought it was the motor so I refurbished it myself, works great now but.....the plastic guides that the latch sets in and slides up and down the slide bar are broken.
can you just buy this part? anyone have any luck fabricating anything else to work? wood, hose....whatever...
anyone know what the $%#$#% I'm talking about....LOL

Look up at the very top of this page for the sponsor links, click on the "TDS - Top Down Solutions" sponsor ad (currently right in the middle of the 8 ads)- you can pick up the nylon guides from there. $22. I just noticed this weekend that mine are cracked

Thanks Tom
You seem to be my best friend....LOL.
Rebuilding my 2.8...I know, put A 350 in it, but with gas prices I'll stick with the little 6, also rebuilding the tranny for the first time, should be fun.
Any links you have that might would help be helpful as far as body parts, ect...could you email them to me?
Again, thanks.

Hah, wild, I hope to be rebuilding my trans this summer, too. Most anything you can find just by clicking on the button in the upper right hand corner of the screen, and typing in what you wanna find.
