Do Firebirds and Camaros have the same AC box? If so, you might want to find out what year S-10 he was referrring to. I just installed one (a S-10, 1986 AC delete box) and I had to weld a sheet metal cover plate over the blower opening and the resistor hole because I pulled off my AC, heater, and smog. Plus I had to weld tapered bolts to the firewall to accept the different bolt hole pattern.
Your application:
1.) If you going to use a late model S-10 you'll need to weld sheet metal over the blower opening, circle where you want to cut, cut out the template, and install a shim (probably 3/16" circle) so the blower will fit flush with the AC delete box.
1a.) The S-10 hole is to low and will interfere with assembly.
2.) After you cut out and test fit the blower to the AC delete box, place the box against the firewall and trace it out...don't forget to trace out the bolthole pattern too.
3.) You'll then have to grind down the firewall paint and weld on some tapered bolts.
4.) Go to Lowes or Home Depot and purchase some camper/trailer foam with the adhesive side on it (probably 1/4" thick x 1" wide) and install it so you get a good seal.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
