Electrode / Shielding Gas Question
Hi all.
I just bought a tank with a cga 360 valve on it. I had it filled and noticed that it's for CO2 only. I have an adapter for my regulator (cga 580 fitting) to use the tank.
How terrible will it be MIG welding mild steel with 100% CO2, i.e. no argon? I have .030" ER-70S6 wire. I'm just looking to learn. Anyone have any recommendations? Should I swap to a CO2 and argon tank (cga 580?) or try a different electrode wire?
Thanks,
Sean

....If your welding on decent thickness you wont have a problem, i did some shaving work on a 300Z today and realized my 75/25 was empty when i was hooking it up
on labor day, i ran it with 100% and it came out fine...it does get a little hotter though Thread
