Artists Needed

I just finished building my 87 GTA and while assembling the front end I caught a glimpse of the front end of the car at just the right angle and without the nose on it I loved the look........Could Someone draw me a few ideas for a redesigned front end....

I was thinking something that followed along the front of the hood line.....Maybe extending the front end only about an inch....If that..... Or maybe not evenin front of the hood line maybe behind it or below it...Whatever any and all drawings are welcome.....I have 5 of these cars so I want to redesign one of them....

Did you find your artist?

If you're interested I could make some sketches. let me know an email address to send to, I'm not sure how to upload on this site. I'd make pen sketches first, and can go from there

email me at tuske350@yahoo.com if interested. I'll see that before a reply to this post.

83 Crossfire TA,

I really like the side view of the Camaro that you did. I assume it is supposed to be morphed with a 1st gen Camaro front end?

A front view would be an interesting experiment and something interesting to check out. Cool!

Mark,

That picture really peaks my interest. I also like the way the rear bumper is smoothed. Any plans for frontal / rear views?

NO MANUAL DRAFTING ALLOWED!

I like the first and second renderings. The later ones appear a little too "Fiero-ish" for me. They look relatively easy for a Pontiac, but what about Camaros with the headlamps in the nose? Any ideas for that? I'm sure Camaro drivers would rather not have to switch to a Poncho hood to get a fascia that fits.

I could work on some Camaro versions, but the thread started for an '87 GTA, hence the Pontiac themes...

Yes it did, And I love the drawings...I also see that you add a couple more from the ones you emailed me.......

I really like the first one but the idea I had in my head was for more air across the Radiator which that one doesn't do....could you tweak that one a little Please

Ok, attached is one more sketch. I took what seems to be the consensus favorite, as well as mine, and reversed it to give the openings in the middle (it does lose the recessed 'bird and GTA) but it works. Notice I have a slight "v" shape in the grilles carrying with the Pontiac theme. Plus, the split grille works with them, too. There's room on the sides if you want to add fog lights, but it's your call.

I hope you like

Those looks reall nice. I saved them the other day and was just wondering who drew them.

Where would the signal lights mount? I think a foglight/turnsignal combo on the sides would look cool.

I drew them. Thank you for the compliments.

Yeah, they do have room for turn signals. a stealth approach would be to hide them behind the grilles.

i have an idea for the turn signals and fogs, since you would have to fab all of this, you could do CTS fog/turn signals http://carad.ebayimg.com/i12/03/a/06/56/a8/de_4.JPG norice how they are somewhat recesed, well if you keep it like that you could have a blackout cover molded right into the bumper so it would all look real smoth but you would still have the lights on the other side

Edit: also this i think this would look the best on the latest drawing he just did, i tried to do a little ps chop to it but i didnt wanna ruin his drawings

Cool, glad you like.

We could discuss the others, but I'll need a couple of weeks, as I'm swamped at work.

Do you need anything else for it, or the original drawings? PM me your address and I can mail them to you if you want them. Otherwise I'll just discard them..

Well, at least get some much higher res scans of them before you discard them. If you want, you can email them to me and I can put them up on a server for people to pull them down when they want for a while...

Ok, I can take hi res pics. Do you have an email or FTP server to upload them to? I can't seem to upload anything higher on this site than what I have.

Thanks

Just email them to mark.pikas@{same server name as the email in my profile}, I have that account setup just for people sending me larger files and usually don't check it unless I have a reason to (I spend a lot of the day using dailup, have broadband at home).

if you need someplace that will take more then about a 1mb attachement just send me an email at the email in my profile and I'll work that out also.

I got the scans, they look good… I’ll put them up and then post a link tonight.

And yea, I agree with some of the sentiment here… it’s probably something that I could build if I wanted to, not really my style so I doubt that I ever would, BUT, they are sweet drawings and it would be a shame to have them disappear into the ether, which is why I offered to put them up.

Cool, thank you. I'm glad that they are appreciated. I just don't have room for every drawing I have made, if I kept them all I'd be cluttered in papers, etc. As it is, under my bed is full of sketches, etc waiting to be updated in a portfolio one day..

This isn't my style, either, but, if somone wants to modify their car based on a sketch I made, then I say cool! More power to ya! I do look forward to the end result and progress updates on the GTA.

Well I definately will be starting on a Front end Modification very soon...I took my car thru emissions today again and almost made it thru....Apparently my tank isn't holding pressure but i think i have that all worked out so now it's on to the fun mods hopefully in full force begining next month.....

And if and when you come up with any new drawings i would love see anything you come up with....even body mods or rear end....Your drawing are awesome.

Ok So I got thru emissions...And I hate to say this but I think I am going to spin off a little of 83 Crossfire TA's hosting of drawing 2...Need to add something to the sides of the front....seems like to much dead space plus i need fog lights and turn signals anyways....

Love the drawing buy the way if I have not mentioned that...I do find it disconcerning that we only have one artist or atleast only one person that did some scetches...Not diss-ing the Photoshop's at all I appreciate those as well...But the Drawings and the 2 angle thing is really awesome....

I really expected alot more ideas to pop up from various individuals that have ideas but can't or don't know how to make them a reality...Oh well I will take what I can get....Still hoping some other Pics of other ideas will come (Sides, Rear, Whatever)

Thanks to everyone who contributed
