you're making a lambo from scratch? or a kit car based on...?
with an LS1 powertrain eh? might need some extra oomph to back it up...

Thanks Guys It is a kit but I would never call it a kit. the frame was built from a blue print and everthing was cut and fabbed from raw stock. The engine mods will come later on after she is done. With an LS1 and porsche trans axle they will run around 180... I already have about 50k into it and should end up around 70k

Thanks for the post..
BTW in the drop down menu on my site under video you can her it run

Whoa that's really cool, awesome job so far! How much are you expecting it to weigh and why did you chose the LS1? Not saying you should have used another engine, just wondering.

I went with the LS1 for weight and it is a motor you can turn the intake around on. Also it is alreay tested with the Porsche trans axle

Thanks

ls1 is nice.. but it really should be a 402 Ls2 stroker... that will give u all the exotic power u need.

finally an exotic gets a real motor. LOL

Yea it is nice just a few things to move and a few wires you can turn the manifold. I thought about using the LS2 but as you vette guys will know everthing for the lS1 is off the shelf and a little easyer to get. We will see how she runs before the mods start. there is a good amount of rubber to turn.

You will not find any feiro parts in this build. just c5 corvette or oem where ever I can..

Now that I think about it, for about 6 grand more you could buy a new Z06 with the 505hp LS7

You have to go through the pain of saying it it a home built. Then you can name it whatever you like. Some states are better then others in this case. But it is all a big pain in the @ss

Sorry not sure why the video is not working for you.

I inquired about getting a home build motorcycle going but I think it would be a lot easier for a bike than a car. Motorcycle doesnt have to comply with any safety standards really, I would think as long as the brakes work it would be no problem, but what about the air bags and crap in a home built car? I think this is why most people build off of a fiero chassis, its an "old" car and you dont have to worry about any safety crap. Let us know how that all works out. Looks like you are doing a really nice job!

Thanks Scooter no air bags are needed if you go to your DMV home page look under home builds and it will tell you what is needed. In NY no air bag is need but a padded dash is and a rear window defoger and wipers ... But that is about it.

I thought all "New" cars had to have airbags, thanks Ill have to remember to look that up if I ever decide to build a car. Also do you have any overall pictures of the car where it stands now? I would love to see the progress you have made so far
