ok i see. Mine are almost like that...except they are just a single bar...no y pipe looking piece that heads towards the center. Looks like there are desinged to be bolted in in the front, and welded in the back?...i plan on just welding..no bolting in..they have a flat piece of metal..retangluar shaped, welded on a angle at one end..

sounds like the jegster/chassis engineering bolt-in units like mine

they stiffened up the chassis some but honestly, they weren't enough just bolted in like that. you could see on the back decklid where it was touching the quarter panel on the passenger's side of the car whenever i launched it hard cause the paint was chipping off.(i probably would have never noticed this had the car had a rear spoiler on it) so, i welded them in where the plates bolted to the floor and i added some tubing.

I think you may have the Competition Engineering weld ins.If they are just a straight piece with an angled tab,the tab is supposed to bolt in between the subframe and trans crossmember. You have to cut a section of the floorpan for the connector to protrude through, and weld the full length on each side.I've got them, because I got them second hand from a guy who was scared of installing them. They certainly aren'y my personal favorite design, but if they were free, they are worth putting in,IMO.
Rather than trying to figure out exactly where to cut,I cut a 6" wide section out of my floorpan, placed the connectors in,and rebuilt that section of the floor with 14 ga. steel,a little more weight but helps stiffen it up that much more.
While you are there,if you ever desire dual exhaust,I cut out the "dip" under the rear seats and replaced it with flat panels, welded in of course. It gives you a nice place to tuck the mufflers up into, and raises your exhaust pipe just a tad, too.
MW66,very nice job on your connector modifications. The look a good deal sturdier than mine.Oh well, ever since I put the 468 in mine,it won't hook good enough to flex anyways!

I have a couple of pics on my website. At the very bottom...they are the only shiny white part under there!
they're not that shiny anymore, though.

Those are either the CEs or homemade, either way if you use them you'll have to cut your floorpan for them.
