Neat idea but not very practical.
I'd like to see the face of the cop who stops this car first when the owner says "Those really ARE my plates, it IS a Chevy!"

Interesting. You would think the "turn your Viper into a Camaro" kit would be available since they don't make Camaros anymore. Not sure if I would ever want anyone thinking my trusty Chevy was a Dodge product.
Ha ha, I wonder if the red pic is even a converted Chevy. I bet it is a stock Viper. Good find though.

I've seen those for C4 corvettes too.

The problem is, all it comes with is the fiberglass. By the time you buy the 300 other parts you need, you'll have spent enough that you could have just bought a used Viper.

That "finished" pic is a pic of a real viper. If this kit actually looked halfway decent, you'd think he'd put up a real pic.

It looks like a bunch of viper body pannels you can try and make fit on a third gen.

This reminds me of the "Make your 3rd Gen a Ferrari" body kit. The worst part about this is that I actually saw a finished piece of this kit for sale last year. Someone had done this to a firebird all the way down to the ferrari rims, steering wheel and shifter.

One benefit would be the weight of fiberglass.

I have to disagree. I believe with many kit cars, you bond the rear quarter fiberglass panels ontop of the original sheetmetal panels. In the end, you most likely add more weight than you remove.

Anyone remember the Evo II kit to turn your firebird or camero into a euro looking rice burner with lambo doors and stuff?

Evolution:Evoluzione II

The original Evo I kit was around 3 grand and came with alot more stuff (rear glass, dual shocks for the doors), so all that fiberglass for 2500 bucks most likely is about right. Just my opinion.

uh oh this might get ugly,

EDIT: you do reaize that 188km/h is 116.8 mph? and you said you ran the 1/4 in 10.28. Usually, 1/4 miles times of 10.28 or thereabouts dont match up with 116.8mph (188km/h). Those two dont match up FYI. Im not saying that you didnt do it, though some might, but you should post up the timeslip if you did that.

Wow, I wish the Original Evo kit was 3grand, it was like 5 grand, and no, it didn't come with any glass.

I agree with Jim, even buying the head lights, windshield, and brake lights would be outrageous in cost. Notice he never said any of those items were included in the kit. He just just states the kit uses real viper parts and the windshield frame is included.

I dunno about you guys but I can't find Viper parts in the JY to get them cheap.

Then you have the rims to consider too. You just spent $2500 + shipping on a rep kit and collected the rest of your parts (at least another acouple thousand). You would be easily into the double digits now probably, not even counting the labor hours. Would just throw a set of IROC rims or Snowflakes on there and call it done? Of course not. Then you consider Viper rims are 6 lugs if I'm not mistaken. So just picking up a set and sending them off to a shop be redone to fit is out of the question.

My reply is please fight over PMs. This is a Tech Board nothing for you start flaming over. I have reported this post to the MOD.

And my answer for your car specs is simple. I looked into your images you posted and found your cardomain member ID off the URL tag and used it to access your cardomain page.

Under bragging rights section you have: "Bragging Rights Quarter Mile 13.79 sec @ 101.9 mph est. HP 280 hp"

Very nice and clean looking car. Extremely nice engine bay, but it's no where close to 10s. I can clearly see in the pics you do not have a supercharger or turbos. I like the way you have everything offset in either red or black though.

Discussion over...

sorry if my bs post offended you but all i based it off was what youve posted. and to me, doesn't seem reasonable, now say, if you are pushing like a 500hp shot of nitrous through that tpi, then its probably possible.

Go post in Gen tech and stop hijacking fab board threads. 10 sec. quarter mile times on a n/a LTR set up. Ahhh.... (wipes a tear) I needed that! Thanks!

If you ask me you are crazy to even consider something else. I agree with 7plagues, just pick up a set of compCams springs.

Mine would do 155 mph stock, but after that I ran out. We were talking 1/4 mile not top speed though. If you're busting out 150 mph on a 350 in the 1/4 you must have a magic combo or be doing some serious turbo/nitrous works.

I'm really surprised that no one has threatened to "meet somebody afterschool outside the gym".

Folks- please loose the attitudes. Grown-ups don't act like this. If you are mature enough to drive a car you need to act like a grown-up.
