first off . ok , i dont have high enducation on this stuff this is why my mechanic comes in .but i appreciate the time you guys take to help me out not the best way but ive seen worse...i did not know what was causing my prestone to vanish that fast ...ok go to garage talk says either cracked heads or head gasket ok....a few day later after getting mutiple same responces i bring car to him , they take it off and noticed ripped head gasket about 2mm makes a diff in power let me tell you.Anyway sent heads to get ported and spring change......yadi yada they i asked do the pistons look ok ..pretty old looking so asked him whats the best pistons he thinks is best (was thinking for forged diamonds ) but he said dome pistons were used in drag races untill banned so why not get some awsome pistons after we got them i read on a site that when getting turbo changing pistons is a must ...so i asking him again i read in a site yadi yada...again said should be no problem (second time for head gasket) well since my car is already in shop^with it guess it going to stay a few more day cause i got to change pistons now witch sucks cause its more $$ from my ***....

with an o-ringed block, copper gaskets, forged everything, studs, air to water intercooler, good gas (110octane +) and conservative timing, sure, you can run big boost and high compression...but you risk blowin the rings shut, or poundin' the ringlands closed. it's not a very realistic thing on a 19 y/o's budget.

ok, looks like you guys made a few mistakes here. one was not being educated, you should have done WAY more research on the forced induction bit before you just went out and did it. second thing, you listened to an ignorant mechanic. just because he's got 27 years experience, doesn't mean he's got good experience.

domed pistons are not illegal in any way shape or form. the stockers and super stockers and lots of other classes will only allow a certain type of piston in their class, but for all out outlaw type of racing (the kind were you make the rules) you can pretty much run whatever you want.

do you even know what the compression for the motor is? if you want to run 8-12 pounds of boost, and keep it pump gas friendly, i'd say your gonna want to run a piston that will net you roughly 8.5:1 c/r. jegs and summit sells the speed pro power-forged pistons and they have a dished piston that i think nets 8.3:1 with a 64cc head. they are about $280 or so for the set.

FIRST THINGS FIRST though...GET A NEW MECHANIC!!!
----------
the budget thing is strictly coming from experience my friend...nothing more, nothing less. i'm not much older than you sitting down here at 21, but because of my budget, i end up fabbing a ton of stuff up instead of spending my money...it's gotta go in the gas tank yo!

ill right that down , its to late now , car has only the block standing cant change mechanics now...live and learn (the hard way in this case)
----------
yeah i cutting down of modifing after this one...untill gaz goes down..summers coming and got yard work and house work to do before it goes for sale , every modyfication came from savin in winter witch turned out to be more than i expected but its always like that nothing goes as planned

your age is in your "public profile"...i check those before i get into a debate, normally so i know how to handle myself...cause had you been a 35 y/o, i may have thought differently how i acted or reacted...if you were 35 and asking the questions you were, or claiming the things you were, i'd have probably tried to figure out how to get to montreal so i could personally slap you in the face, but since your 19, i figured i'd go easy on ya, cause your obviously new to this deal and your still learning.

Kid, go buy a few books before anything else and spend some good quality time with them. If you depend on others entirely you are going to get continually ripped off until you enter the grave.

but you know what? he came out on top cause he realized he's in over his head (if in fact he's actually telling the truth about the turbos) and his mechanic is a dumba$$!

Good call!

But, playing the devil's advocate... I'm not so sure straight has any of the things he says he does.

I think the posted Edelbrock pics look like one of Vic's poster children and not a real engine in a real car. The lack of a memory card in a camera sounds like a supporting excuse. Trolling comes to my mind... but that is up to y'all to decide.

Trolling: Deliberately posting false information in order to elicit responses from people who really want to help. A typical response might be, "No, Bart Simpson was NOT one of our founding fathers."- Vikont Solutions Corp.::Technical Glossary

Yeah 10.XX at 116... not even that in the 1/8th... the speed is off...

Hell I will be happy with good lower side 12's with this HSR equipped 383 W/2K stall, 2055's, magnaflow cat back, SFC's and rear LCA's...
Which I think is completely realistic.

Straight, your car looks nice... but keep talking like this and it will end up getting dicked over by someone you have mouth'd off too.

Quite entertaining indeed when someone makes up a bunch of crap even though they obviosly dont know what their talking about and just trying to "sound" cool. the thing i dont get is why some people have to try and make themselves look better to a bunch of people they dont even know?

just my 2 cents
BTY my 92 lo3 is stock and slow but i dont really care what others think of it cause i love my third gen and i may not post but you guys here rock very helpful in times of need to us brokeass's trying to keep our cars running

Wow, what a waste of time.

I'll make this simple. You want people to shut up, show us pics. If not, give me your address, and I'll go take pics for you when I'm up there in a few weeks.

Of course, we could go on and on about how your full of BS!
