Question about installing a 6-speed behind my 350 tpi...

I know this isn't uncommon, but I have a 89' 350 tpi and am converting from a 700r4 to 6-speed and need to know where I can get a translator for my VSS / Spedo gear? Any help would be appreciated. Also can I use a LT1 flywheel and L98 starter?

If you have an electric speedo, most guys use the dakota digital SGI-5 box. Yes, the LT1 flywheel and clutch setup will work. Starter maybe, depends on which one you have, if it wont get one for a T-5 car, the nose is a little smaller than an auto.

No, mine has a mechanical speedo cable. The digital speedos came out of the 91-92 model cars. So which one would I need and where would I go to find it?

Oh sorry thought you might have had a bird. There is a company that makes a motor to drive the cable, cant think of who makes it, there is also a conversion to mechanical, but both are pricey. Do a search its been covered several times.

Abbot Enterprises make the CableX electrical to mechanical conversion box. Around $300, IIRC.
